When you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or overcome by feelings during an encounter or project, it can affect how you perform. Therefore, simply ignoring your emotions will not help you mitigate their impact. To begin to diffuse a negative emotion, the first step is to take a moment to recognize what you are feeling and give it a name.
